CCR NORMOXIC TRIMIX DIVER CLASS

Why take the CCR Normoxic Trimix Diver course?

The Closed-Circuit Rebreather Normoxic Trimix Diver course helps divers transition from recreational closed-circuit diving to technical rebreather diving. This course challenges divers in a controlled, supportive environment, focusing on the essential skills needed to manage rebreathers effectively, maintain equipment, and follow protocols during a technical dive.

It also reinforces fundamental rebreather skills and strengthens the diver’s ability to address both open-circuit and closed-circuit failures, building a solid foundation for further advanced technical diving.

Venturing past 50 m / 170 ft demands polished skills, substantial experience, and the mental resilience to manage the challenges of deep, helium‑based dives. Mastering these dives unlocks access to unexplored wrecks, caves, and other frontiers beyond Technical Diver or Advanced Recreational Trimix limits — perfect for anyone drawn to true exploration.

Proficiency at these depths opens the door to project diving, exploration, and discovery for anyone who wants to take on the challenge.

Who is it for?

Closed-Circuit Rebreather Normoxic Trimix Diver course is intended for CCR Nitrox / Helitrox (i.e., CCR Fundamentals) divers who aspire to dive beyond their current level and who have completed a minimum of 50 experience dives on the rebreather since class completion. Divers will find that this course gives them the tools to safely extend their range on the rebreather by building and enhancing their technical diving abilities.

Divers on a technical path must be prepared to handle emergencies and execute dives where they cannot make a direct ascent due to decompression obligations.

This type of diving requires greater physical fitness, as divers carry more equipment and face increased decompression stress.

What will I learn?

Closed-Circuit Rebreather Normoxic Trimix Diver course outcomes include, but are not limited to, cultivating, integrating, and expanding the essential skills required for safe technical diving; identifying and resolving OC and CCR problems; using the technical CCR configuration and addressing the potential failure problems associated with doing so; general decompression strategies; using helium to minimize narcosis; applying CCR and single decompression stage diving for decompression procedures; and planning technical dive missions, including gas management, absorbent canister endurance strategies, oxygen toxicity management, and decompression strategies.
