Why take Advanced Cave Survey Course?
Cave survey and cartography are important aspects of cave exploration and useful for all advanced cave divers. In this IANTD/TDI Advanced Cave Survey class, divers will learn all the required skills to conduct a full cave survey, from an in-water survey to drafting a cave map.
During the class, team-based survey procedures and dive planning are introduced together with additional tools and specialized equipment/software solutions.
Who is it for?
Many divers undertaking the Advanced Cave Survey class have been involved in exciting cave exploration projects worldwide. At a minimum, this course adds special skills and knowledge to the repertoire of any skilled cave diver.
What will I learn?
Course outcomes include, but are not limited to: competency in the basic principles of underwater cave survey, implementation of a defined team approach to underwater survey data collection, which prepares an experienced cave diver to assist in a coordinated cave project productively, using specific cave survey tools and software, and an introduction to cartography methods.

Applicants must:
- Be qualified in IANTD/TDI Technical Cave Diver or equivalent;
- Be a minimum of 18 years of age;
- Be physically and mentally fit;
- Obtain a physicianâs prior written authorization for the use of prescription drugs, except for birth control, or for any medical condition that may pose a risk while diving;
- Have a minimum of 25 logged cave dives.
The IANTD/TDI Advanced Cave Survey Course is usually conducted over two days. It requires a minimum of four cave dives, at least 240 minutes of in-water work, and instruction encompassing classroom lectures and land drills.

Students must bring their own tech-level diving gear, including cave-survey equipment (requirements will be provided upon registration) or borrow/rent it, pay for their gases and tank rentals, cenote entree and agency certification fees is not included
