Why take Advanced Cave DPV course?
IANTD/TDI Advanced Cave DPV cave divers are known worldwide for successfully using DPVs during long-range exploration cave dives. Cave diving has a long tradition of using diver’s propulsion vehicles (DPVs) or scooters. DPVs are often used as important tools to increase the penetration distance or carry additional heavy dive equipment into the cave.
Since a DPV’s failure in an overhead environment might expose divers to a high level of risk, an in-depth knowledge of gas management and contingency planning is required to use a DPV safely during such dives.
Who is it for?
As an advanced cave diving course, Advanced Cave DPV is available to experienced Technical Multistage Cave divers with prior experience using a DPV.
In the Advanced Cave DPV class, all scooter-specific skills are practiced to mastery level. Special consideration is paid to awareness, navigation, dive planning, and gas management using multistages and multiple DPVs.
What will I learn?
Course outcomes include, but are not limited to, reinforced skills from the IANTD/TDI Technical DPV course, management of multiple DPVs and all the ramifications of their use, stage cylinder handling, and cave environment-specific applications.
